MS-DOS Disk MAAL Presented by Colin Justason
This is the Twelveth of the TPUG PC Disks, MAAK. M = MS-DOS AAL = DISK ID
MAAL is a shareware/freeware disk and you should let your conscience guide you
but I suggest that if you are going to use these programs that you should pay
the programmer something for his effort, if you find the program useful. Most
of the programmers make contribution suggestions which do not seem out of
line, in fact most are a steal for the quality of their work.
I have separated the programs with dummy files starting with a - and an ext of
---. These files are blank and can be deleted once you are familiar with the
different files and what is required for each program.
The first program is PCC - another dual directory file Manager with a few
features different from previous versions of this type of program. This one
supports different colours, wildcards, viewing of files and numerous other
functions. If you are familiar with the other versions of this program by
other programmers please be careful since the commands are slightly different
and you could experience problems if you are not careful.
The next program CUTFILE does just that cut up large files so you can move
them between machines without ARCing the file or whatever. Make sure you
follow the directions in the DOC's for putting the file back together.
LIST62A is the latest version of the List program that allows you to look at
large files and perform various operations on the file. Read the PKARC data
so you will know how to UN-ARC this file.
This is another version of HOTDOS which seems quite popular with some people
who always want to get back to DOS no matter what they are doing.
PKARC will allow you to compress all your files into smaller ones and whenever
you need them you can utilize them. Test it out on LIST62A.
AIRATAK is a game that has been around under a number of names but seems to
always be popular.
MC is a very useful tool which will allow you to split your PC into several
machines, however each part will be suspended whenever you switch but numerous
programs can be loaded at one time, based on available memory.
RAMDISK is very usefull if you would like to be able have a very fast access
disk or a spare disk for copying. This one can also be modified on the fly if
you so desire.
E88 is a very handy little editor that seems to have a lot of features for
those little batch files you always seem to be creating.
That's it for disk MAAL, hope you find it useful and remember the programmers.
